Playa Colomitos is considered the smallest beach in Mexico, a semi-hidden, paradise-like spot. It stands out for its golden sand, surrounding dense jungle vegetation, and crystal-clear turquoise waters, which are ideal for swimming due to the gentle waves.
Water Taxi (Panga): From Boca de Tomatlán, you can take a panga (water taxi) that takes you directly to the beach in approximately 5 minutes. Walking: Start a hike (trail) of about 1.5 km from Boca de Tomatlán, following a well-marked path between the jungle and the sea (about 30–45 minutes).
The water taxi cost can be from $260 pesos per person to either Colomitos or as far as Las Ánimas, and they can pick you up at specific times; the last pickup is around 5 pm. If you want to spend more time, pay for a private water taxi, which can be from $300 pesos per person round-trip and allows for a longer schedule. If you go during the rainy season (June to October), it is best to arrive early and return early because thunderstorms are more frequent in the afternoons or evenings. If you take the hiking trail, bring water and food because there are no vendors, no restrooms, and no showers—just nature.
