Conchas Chinas Beach

About this beach
Full description
Is a picturesque beach in Puerto Vallarta, known for its golden sands and beautiful emerald-green waters. Its waters are characterized by medium to moderate waves; however, during the months of December and January, the swell can be higher. It is a series of smaller beaches separated by rocky outcrops where warm natural pools form, ideal for cautious swimming and observing marine life.
How to get there
Taxi / Uber This is the fastest and most direct way. Simply request the service and use "Playa Conchas Chinas" as your destination. They will drop you off near the main beach access. Public Transportation Route: Take the bus on Route C01 - MISMALOYA (or any bus heading south on the Coastal Highway). Alighting Stops: You can get off at the stop in front of the Conchas Chinas Oxxo. Alternatively, you can get off at the next stop, near the Los Siete Mares Condominium. Beach Access: Once you get off the bus, you must walk down the main street that leads to the beach (it is a street with a pronounced slope towards the sea). Important: Do not confuse this with Sagitario Street, which is right next to the Oxxo; the main access is a few meters further down the road. Private Car Route: From downtown Puerto Vallarta, follow the main highway south (Carretera Costera a Barra de Navidad/México 200). Parking: You will need to look for a place to park on the side of the highway near the beach access, as spaces are limited in the residential area. Beach Access: The key reference point is the Conchas Chinas Oxxo. Beach access is via the street just after that area or before reaching the area of the Los Siete Mares Condominium. Follow the street that goes down towards the sea to reach the beach.
Expert tip
This beach is the fastest one to reach; however, you can walk from Los Muertos Beach, where you will find a small hill you can climb and cross to find other beaches like Amapas. The difficulty of this walk is low to medium. This beach does not have restrooms, so take that into account. There are vendors, but they usually arrive around 11 AM; bring cash, plenty of water, and, if possible, your own beach furniture (chairs, umbrella). If you are driving, arrive early because the access road is narrow and often blocked. I recommend arriving early and parking your vehicle facing outward so you can find parking and leave more easily. The cost of a fruit snack can be around $60 pesos per piece or bag, and a snack like fish or shrimp might be $40 pesos each or 3 for $100 pesos. I do not recommend swimming here unless you are a strong swimmer, and even then, you must be careful; the waves are not as calm as they look. But it is excellent for sunbathing.
