Isla del Río Cuale is a natural and cultural oasis located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. It is a strip of forested land formed in 1926 by a flood of the river, which divides the city's Downtown area (Centro) and the Romantic Zone (Zona Romántica). It is known for its bohemian and tranquil atmosphere, housing the Cuale Cultural Center, the Cuale Museum, and a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and handicraft stores. It serves as the green lung of the center and a meeting point between art and nature.
